Boys and girls ages 5-12
Weeknights and/or Saturdays beginning in June; weather permitting. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate each team. Practice may begin in late May or June and will be scheduled based on coaches availability.
Participants receive a game shirt and hat. Every player should have a pair of white baseball pants and a mitt.
The number of registered participants at any age group will determine the program format. As of April 17, 2024 the parks and recreation department anticipates running the program in a camp/clinic format with instruction from Rookie Sports Club, LLC. The schedule, subject to change, is tentatively as follows:
Ages 5-6, Saturday morning at 9 or 10am at Ellenwood
Ages 7-9 on Saturday morning at 10 or 11am at Ellenwood
Ages 10-12 on Thursday evenings at 6pm at Ellenwood
Fee: $55 Resident/$65 Non-Resident

As of April 17, 2024, we anticipate entering teams into the City of Cleveland Division of Recreation Baseball League, for which there is no charge to participate.
Ages 13-15 will enter 1 team in the Cleveland Muny League with games on various days of the week on fields throughout Cleveland. In the past this division has played games on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Ages 16-18 will enter 1 team in the Cleveland Muny League with games on various days off the week on fields throughout Cleveland. In the past this division has played games on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Volunteers Needed! The Recreation Department relies on volunteer coaches at all levels to coordinate each team.
The mission of the Bearcat Sports programs is to teach, develop, organize, manage, and offer youth players the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of a variety of sports while instilling life-lessons and values such as character, teamwork, discipline, respect and sportsmanship.
