Chess is an exciting battle of wits and we invite young chess enthusiasts to join the "Bedford" Team. Our chess team will compete individually and as a community in the annual Knights of the Square Table Chess Tournament.

Game Style: Card system. Each player will play three games (additional games past three may be played but not scored). Players are paired randomly. As players finish, the winners get a GREEN card and the losers get a BLUE card.  Players then reset their board and go to the Pairing Area.  As soon as there are two players with GREEN cards they are paired and plan on an empty board together.  As soon as there are two players with BLUE cards they are paired and compete. All participants will receive a medal. Top players and teams will receive trophies. This is a faster paced, introductory version of a chess tournament and great for beginners and young players.
